Pronunciation tables
KD aims at representing all spoken forms of Revived Cornish unambiguously. We have prepared pronunciation tables for Classical Middle Cornish (KK), Tudor Cornish (UC, UCR), and Late Cornish (RLC) to demonstrate how a compromise orthography could work for all of them. We have also recorded mp3 files to accompany the pronunciation guides, so that Cornish speakers who are unfamiliar with IPA can hear the sounds represented in the tables. We wish to stress that we are not prescribing a ‘correct’ pronunciation for Revived Cornish that we expect all speakers to follow; we are simply trying to show how KD is compatible with the recommended pronunciations of KK, UC, UCR, and RLC.
